An update

January 2005....After nearly 50 years of Ham Radio at many different locations all seems to have settled down in a very modest way. No linears nor high gain beams. Only a basic transceiver (FT-767GX) and a simple wire antenna system. A Kenwood 2500 hand held is hooked up to a Pakratt 232 modem for 2 metre packet! A 2m and a 70cm module in the FT-767GX looks after my further VHF and UHF needs!
Over the past years most digital modes have been tried, but only Packet mode is still being regularly used. My Ham radio has been a partner of Internet for many years and I still regularly check all the HF bands. I can also be found from time to time on the PC EchoLink or eQSO. 73 de ZL One African Queen!
